Emonie's Closet Story

Emonie's Closet was established in honor of my daughter, Emonie D. Canada.

Emonie was in foster care for three years prior  to becoming part of our family in 2004. On April 11, 2006 we adopted each other. Emonie was an energetic young woman who remembered her foster care days.  Wearing too small shoes, changing foster care homes with minimal change of clothes.  That one red dress.  I was fortunate to be able to provide for Emonie her fashionista passions and natural gift to play sports. She loved clothes, sneakers and playing sports, but she was always ready and wanting to give back as she never forgot that part of her life. She was passionate for the less fortunate and had a huge heart for children. She is Emonie's Closet.

Emonie's Closet

Emonie's Closet has been created for foster families and families in need to "shop" free of charge. Clothes, school supplies, toiletries, books and sports equipment will be available to within the State of Georgia. Kinship and/or a youth that has aged out of foster care are welcomed.

*Future programs will include sports, trade, business and life skill training.

Emonie's Closet Team

Emonie’s Closet is 100% comprised of volunteers who have a passion for giving back and for understanding the values of inner growth.
